My boyfriend let's just call him W is friends with E. E was emailing W on myspace when he called me an ugly-*** skank. I checked into W's myspace because he told me the password, and saw what E wrote. now i hate E and W told me he doesn't want to lose his best friend or his girlfriend. but what now? W knows E does things to make my life miserable (even though i fight back and have actually smacked E on the face 2 times) but he started it...HELP!

I am usually considered a nice person and am not usually called names. also, i tried to apologise to E but he cut off all communication.

I am so sorry. I know how it feels. Someone I really care about called me a whore once and I was so hurt. But, when he explained why he chose that name (b/c my husband spends all my money and wants me to sleep with his friends) it made perfect sense. Still hurts to think about it though. I know how bad you feel.
Pay attention to W's behavior. If he won't take up for you now-he never will.

I would try to improve your presentation first so that people would stop considering you as what "E.E." said.

Instead of holding grudges, just ask for an apology and an explanation. When he realizes he hurt your feelings and that you are in fact a kinder person than he thought, he himself will feel hurted. Unless he doesn't care. If that's the case, then you have to ask yourself if your boyfriend is right for you because of the people he hangs around with.

EDIT: OK, if you smacked him (EE) in the face then apologize for that, too. Make peace with him but avoid him at the same time. Because he is a person who'll try to bring you down for his own amusement.

Your boyfriend should stick up for you and put this guy in his place, if your boyfriend docent do so than he is not the guy for you. Best Friend or not if he has no reason to dislike you than he's probably jealous of your relationship with your boyfriend. You should be important enough to your boyfriend for him to stick up for you, if he doesn't dump him and move on.

IMO....any bf/gf or husband/wife who allows someone to call a loved one a nasty name in their presence...is wrong!

if they were talking amongst themselves...that is something you can not control.(still not right) but that is what best friends are for.

however...in your presence ? no way! your boyfriend should have said ...dont refer to her in that way ! his best friends actions showed no respect for you ...and if your boyfriend will allow his best friend to say things like that...means he shows no respect for you either....i would think carefully about your relationship.

good luck
