I have two cats at home, and I just introduced the new kitten to them. I need to keep him in a separate room while I am away so one he doesnt get hurt and two so they can smell each other from under the door. He cries so loud though and I feel bad for him but i have to go to work.

my best advice to you is to bring him a friend. right now he feels lonely and misses his mom and siblings, also don't forget to him you are a stranger and so is your house.

i can promise you that if you will bring him a friend they will get along top a week and he won't cry anymore.
it is known that kitten grow to be much social and happy cats when they have another kitten with them they play together and they don't feel lonely.

i'm a foster home for kitten for 6 years now and every time some one comes to adopt from me i try to let him know taking two kittens will make his and the kittens life much easier.

The old trick of the hot water bottle and a clock, the kind that tic's. A soft blanket, food and water, some room to roam. Maybe a stuffed animal, preferably a cat, a toy or two and your kitten should be fine, assuming you will only be gone a sort time. If you are gone for an extended length of time than I suggest a sitter.

Well this all depends on if the kitten has already been weaned or not, and how old it is anyway, since it probably is missing its mother and siblings. Cats recognize others by scent, just as we humans rely more on sight recognition, and just by being somewhere new, and with no familiar scents of mother or other cats to be found, of course he's gonna be feeling lonely.

Any kitten is gonna need attention during this period of adjustment, the younger the kitten the more time you need to spend with it. But don't overdo it, or you may end up with a cat what follows you around ALL THE TIME, and doesn't know how to be an independent creature anymore. In other words, your cat will begin to think that it is human.

No. He's probably just lonely. After all, all that time being with you he has bonded! I'm assuming he's old enough to be away from his mother - so make sure he has some food and water, and put something you sleep with (like a pillow or small blanket) in there to remind him of you. Toys never hurt. Oh yes, and a litter box. Make sure the room has light and open the window so he has some fresh air (make sure it has a screen!). Please no closets! But I'm sure you know that! Lol. He just loves you! =)

He is crying because he is scared and lonely. Cats do like being around people even if they don't show it all the time :).

He won't be damaged in any way from this experience, but he is letting you know he's unhappy. Try leaving a radio on with soothing music at a low volume while you are gone, and give him plenty of toys to play with. He will adjust to the schedule in time.

He is crying because he is lonely and scared. He will probably get used to this over time, but it is still not a good thing. If you go to your local animal shelter and adopt another kitten your cat will never be alone and lonely. A real benefit for you is that watching two cats/dogs play is really entertaining. (and you have saved a life)

As long as he has food, water, a comfortable place to sleep, a litter box, and maybe something to play with, he should be just fine. He probably just loves attention and is sad when he can't have it.... Good luck

the worst. kittens need the company of other cats or kittens to play and learn. get a sitter or someone to check-up on him. at least let him have the run of the house or apartment.

he wont suffer from it so long as he has access to food, water, toys, and litter. Most animals though are very social. You may want to consider a playmate for him.
