First of all, a lot of people here aren't native English speakers. So they didn't grow up learning the strange spelling rules. A lot of people are expert typists, so they may know how to spell and their fingers just get it wrong. Editing can also sometimes lead to rather unusual spellings, as when you change a word but leave in one extra letter. Lastly, some people are just terrible spellers.

And not *everyone* has a spell checker. I noticed when I changed computers that I no longer got the spell check click-on. Plus spell checkers only catch certain spelling errors and will only be able to guess the right word in some cases.

What really bothers me is the confusion in using simple and most common words like "there, their, to, too, then, than... etc. Some of the reasons attributed here are inaccurate and unconvincing as majority of such errors are committed by people from some English speaking countries, save UK, while others follow suit. If anyone likes to dispute this, please let me have their email ID and i can send him/her copy of numerous comments made on yahoo answers and elsewhere wherein these words are wrongly used over and over again. If anyone feels offended by this comment, i am sorry. It was not intentional.

i visit understand prevalent grammar blunders that no one cares about. yet even as human beings like under no circumstances EVER use a era, it really is a deal breaker. I do not forget that initiating a sentence with and or yet isn't grammatically brilliant, yet i opt to do it in any case. also i do not pay too too a lot interest to grammar, because somewhat, it would not remember. yet there's a decrease. there's a huge difference from informal speech and fully moronic speech.

Because people dont take the time, and sometimes when you are doing other things you dont have time to revise. And most likely are too lazy to press the "Check Spelling" button, it takes seconds from our lives =)

People either don't know how to spell or they don't care enough to use the spell-checker provided. Or they're in a hurry and don't think about it.

I think most people are in too much of a hurry to care if their spelling or grammar is correct.
