Where were you stationed? Guam & USS Constellation, san diego

Me and a friend went out to Tempe, AZ for the weekend. He was 20 and I was 21. He had this awesome fake ID no one could tell it was fake. We went out all night and had a great time. We were making our way home when he said, "lets go to that club!" I was tired and said no but he said it was really great. So we ended up going. He showed the bouncer his ID and all the bouncer said was, "Mine." He noticed the fake in a heartbeat. The look on my friends face was priceless. Needless to say when we got back to san diego he no longer could go out for a couple more months till he turned of age.

Not Military, but Police, hope it gives you a laugh: Joined the Met Police in London in 1966 from my home in Ireland. Had never been to London. Thirteen weeks in Police Training then to Division. Confusion reigned. To quarters, then to report next day to Chief Superintendent at 'X' station. Next morning, in FULL uniform, I stood at the bus stop and away I went, with two hours to spare for a four mile journey. Ended up completely lost, panicked and forgot the name of the police station I was looking for. Asking paper sellers and passers bye, who thought I was mad, where was the nearest Police Station. Wandering the street for two hours looking for a Police Station and eventually found one. Stood outside, aged 25, crying my head off. Eventually entered and when the Sergeant saw me, he jumped the counter, shouting 'What happened son' and ran out the door to see. He came back and asked again. I just stood there crying 'I'm fuc*ing lost' I said in my broad Irish accent. Old Sergeant, had obviously seen it all before. Knowing I had forgotten the name of the station, he said to me 'With those numbers on your shoulder, you're never lost'. He phoned divisional office, found out the station, called a police car and I was taken there, arriving two minutes early for my Chief Superintendent's appointment....... A great start to a wonderful career - now retired..................

Was station in Berlin(Berlin Brigade), for 2 1/2 years. Not a
whole lot of funny things happened but it was a very very nice
tour of duty. This was 66 to 68, and the best thing was that
I didn't have to go to Nam, thank God.
