Religion is bad, in that light. However, so is Love. People die for it, and kill for it as well as become downright fools for it. I'm not religious, because I hate it, but just about any strong emotion is the exact same.

Its human nature. They lack instinct, you see.

Here's something to think about - more wars in history have been caused over religion than anything else. It seems the prevailing belief is that if you don't like my religion or believe in it, well we'll just come in and kill you and make you believe our way.

Organized religion today is such a joke as to be pathetic and in no way is in keeping with the original principles of religion. Its all about money. And the more people you can pull into a church, the more money you can make. Didn't Jesus Christ say "where 2 or 3 are gathered together in my name, there I am also." I don't see anything about 2-3,000 coughing up bucks. And didn't he also teach poverty and giving up everything? Yet look at some of the big bucks being taken in by some of the preachers in the world today - they drive a BMW and live in a million dollar home. That's hardly living in poverty like Christ recommended.

And, what so many of the fundamentalist and other religions refuse to recognize is that Jesus Christ was Jewish and is even called "rabbi" by his followers. Yet, they call the Jewish people such unflattering names as "Christ Killers" when it seems the real, true religion should be the reformed Judaism taught by Christ.

What has happened is that all the evangelicals and others have twisted around the words and wisdom of Jesus Christ to suit their own selfish purposes.

Therefore, it would seem logical that God is in each of us and we should learn to care and love one another and be concerned about our fellow man (or woman).

Religion has taken the world to Hell in a handbasket and the sooner people steer clear of the self-centered, egomaniacal, money-grubbing so-called ministers, and find that goodness within ourselves, the better off we'll all be.

All the religions are good. The answer to your second question is religion is not causing these deaths and destruction. It is the people who have used the religion to expliote their own interests go cause death and destruction.

God has created us all as one nation giving us the clear commands to follow certain rules without imposing His own will on us. It is we who have the free will to follow or not to follow the right path.

We don't get along with people because majority of the people are following the blindly their religious scholars without the correct knowledge of God message. These religious scholars had make their property to control your minds and emotions for their own material benefits.

The greed jealousy cultural ethinic differences can easily be resolved if we learn tollerance and stop following the religious scholars blindly.

It is easy to blame religions without correcting ourselves. This is the problem. Not the religions. Learn to respect each other religious faiths and live a peaceful life.

As Oscar Wilde said, "The pure and simple truth is truth is rarely pure and never simple." Just so with this question. Religion has been a comfort and a possitive thing for many people. On the other hand, people claiming to be acting in the name of religion have done a great deal of damage.

It's not the religion's fault for the mankind to be so greedy and selfish! If everybody would believe in God and live with the religion that he/she wants to believe in, the world would be different!

I think people have got religion all wrong. I think faith is good for mankind, organized religion is bad. It forces people to take sides. How do we even truly know what interpritation of who god is is correct? However, faith is good because you can get close to god and still have an open mind.

Many people confuse religion with God. They're not the same thing. God is good for mankind. Religion isn't neccessarily.
