I am assuming that you are referring to a sandisk, which is a memory stick that plugs into the USB port?

If so, try the following. Go into the control panel, click the system icon, the hardware tab, and go into Device Manager.

Find the listing for the sandisk, right click on it, and uninstall it.

Reboot the PC and it should reinstall the drivers for the sandisk.

If does not work, repeat, only the second time also right-click and uninstall any USB ports that are on your computer in Device Manager before rebooting.

Sometimes if a USB device is moved to a different USB port then it last booted on, Windows gets confused. Removing and readding the device, or the device and ports, will usually fix it.

if you mean sandisk for a compact memory or something, either the drivers need rinstalling, or just does not have one inserted into the reader. If you mean scandisk, xp doesn't use scandisk, it uses chkdsk
