It is the terrible twos. My suggestion: the only way I could ever get my son to listen was to make sure he was looking me in the eye when I spoke to him. Not sure-fire, but he's two.
good luck.

Even at two years old they are very smart little buggars. Don't let him pull one over on you. YOu have to set boundaries and consequences for stepping over them when he does...and then you have to stick to it, be consistant in whatever you decide to do. That's the only way he's going to learn. If you don't stick to what you've decided you will only confuse him, and that will lead to other problems. You are the parent for a reason...he's not old enough to make descisions for himself that might keep him from harm. Learn to choose your battles too!

i am having the same problem with my son that will be 2 in october... i put him in time out when he dosent listen and is being bad, his time out space is in his crib... so he cannot get out, then i wait for him to stop crying and time 1 minute. when he comes out i ask him if he is going to be a good boy and he says yes. it sounds silly but works fairly good. then when he is bad again i ask him if he wants to go in time out in his crib and he stops whatever he is doing bad...... i hope this helps.

putting him in time out can help but you also need to explain why you are putting him in time out. You should also consider taking things away that he enjoys.

Honestly i was never raised in time out, and i think its pointless becasue time out does nothing to disiplein your kid. i believe that your should tell you sit your son down and tell him its wrong or spank him. you want him to respect you when hes older so you should disipline him right. this is my beief and i hope it helps.

don't reinforce his behavior. Reinforce with hugs and praises when he listens, and when he doesn't he needs to be disciplined by not getting what he wants.
