This is very simple and delicious--I get rave reviews everytime I serve it. Best on grill. My family wants it all the time.

soy sauce
Worcestershire sauce
garlic powder
celery salt
2 lbs steak, for grilling (New York Strip, Porterhouse and Top Sirloin are all good)

Coat both sides of meat with all ingredients.
There are no set amounts- you don't have to use a lot.
Let sit for about an hour.
Grill or Broil.

Ingredients in a marinade can be varied, but it is important to use wine, vinegar, lemon juice, or some acidic liquid to break down the connective tissues. This process will make the steak more tender. Remaining marinade ingredients add flavor. Use a good-quality olive oil or walnut oil; add good-quality wine or vinegar and a combination of fresh and dried herbs, seasonings, garlic and soy sauce to make a flavorful marinade.

1 cup olive oil
1/2 cup sherry wine vinegar or red wine or white wine or 1/4 cup lemon juice
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, sliced
pepper, Coarsely ground
red peppercorns (optional)
1 teaspoon italian seasoning
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Place all ingredients in glass screw-top jar; shake vigorously.
Arrange meat in shallow glass dish; pierce with a fork.
Pour marinade over meat; turn to coat.
Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight, turning meat occasionally.
Remove meat from marinade; pat dry.
Remove any pieces of spices or herbs that may stick to meat.

Knorr steak marinade with citrus or try Lipton Onion Mix. Just rub it on the steak and leave for a couple of hours and start the barbecue!

The absolute BEST steak marinade that I've tried is made by Stubbs. I'm not sure if its a regional thing, but I'd check a few different stores. I had to try three different stores to find it but it is delicious. What's great is that it even tastes good on chicken, mmm mmm.

keep it simple: salt, pepper, garlic powder.
you can also try teriyaki sauce, but you have to wait until the steak is almost done grilling to put it on, or the steak will burn.

Make one

A little catsup. salt, sugar, black pepper, cayenne (not too much), paprika, vinegar, maybe some Mexican chilli sauce too.

Its flexible, you acn make just enough to cover the food so you don't waste much.
