Marriage contrary to what most people think does not guarantee that the person will be faithful. Therefore the most honest answer is that marriage is a partnership that two people go into to raise children. It's a business of raising children and being the best examples and caretakers of those future adults. Marriage as a way to keep others from dating the person you love, is more ownership than marriage. The man or woman will remain faithful to you and by your side for a lifetime, if it is real love, with or without a piece of paper that says you are married. It's just a ceremony, and no-one, absolutely NO-ONE should enter into it if they do not SERIOUSLY mean the words "FORSAKING ALL OTHERS"

You haven't said anything about yourself. But, marry the other person if you love them, not out of necessity.
