Don't put them in a fridge if they are too cold it will make them mushy over time. Put them in a cool, dark and dry place and don't take them out of the sack untill you a ready to cook them. They can last for about a week or two without growing or going rotten.

Yeah,...those spuds can grow rather quickly if the environment is right. So, the fridge is best....but, that be known try to provide the next best thing. Potatoes require a cool, dry, well ventilated place for storage, especially long term. If this is not really possible, just re-think your usage of those wonderful potatoes. Maybe you need to buy them in smaller bags and plan your meals to include them when you have them available. Buy only what you will be eating that week.
Good luck and 'Bonn Apetit'! =)

Eat them! Really, put them in a cool dry dark place, but do not put them in the fridge.

Well, that is a good one. All i do is put them in the frig. Like you do. Thats the only think i can think of. i know if you go to the farm and pick tomotoes, I put them in a brown bag, and put them in the basement to get red if they are still all green. They seem to rippen up alot faster. sorry i couldn't help more...

I don't know but that always kinda creeped me out. The only thing I can think of would be to freeze them.
