I think there's only a few "gifts" the sun can give us...and you can only see it between certain hours of the day and it is going to blow up in a few million/billion years, so that isn't very stable enough for me to worship. Some people are allergic to the sun, the sun actually hurts them, so they couldn't or wouldn't want to worship it. I think it's a bad idea.

Actually, this thought was prevalent long before you came up with it as the creation has been worshipped since the beginning of time as people could easily believe in what they could see, but not in the fact that there was a creator - but the consistency of the sun is that there is a creator - and it is in the creator of the sun that we should worship, not the sun itself - and many religions did not worship the sun itself, but the fact that there was a creator of the sun, they just didn't realize he had an identity.
And money will always be someone's motive as they want more than there share of this creation - so the greater solution would be - if the spot you claim does not hold all that you believe you are entitled too, then move, but then you claim a spot that someone else has claimed, and conflict ensues - see how endless wars will be?
I'm assuming your question was a bit rhetoric, actually, but my answer has hopefully led you to think through a process of possible solutions and still derive the only conclusion - without worship of the creator by all creation, there will always be "my" needs are greater than your needs, therefore "my" might will overcome your might and "I" will conquer, steal, and kill your space to make it my own.
Why? Because to quote you "Those stupid Pilgrims, damn dirty apes and dumbassed ancestors" have all been there, done that time and time and time again and what has been constant - the Creator of creation and the hardness of man's heart.

Actually we should give up worshiping "god''. Its jus a bible full of mythical stories. If people had common sence they would see that. If i had a coke can and i was like an elf is in here would u believe me? Thats basically what the bible is. Full of nonsence stories, and people pick 1 or 2 things out of it that benefits them. Plus the bible is what is causeing all the wars. Anyways....we know its never going to go away so oh well lol

Almost all ancient civilizations worshiped the sun, starting with Nimrod in Babylon, The Aztecs and Presently The Roman Church, ever seen pictures of the saints and see the glowing suns behind thier heads? If your Catholic you all ready worship the sun. All the wise and ancient cultures who worshiped the sun soon crumbled and were no more.

Kim:Are you Aztec?
Kara: You are just plain creepy, God created EVERYTHING!!!!! Why would you worship one of his creations you might as well worship a plant or something maybe even cardboard because it would be just as useless.
Ex 20:4-5:You shall not make yourself a carved imge-any likeness of anything that is inheaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;5you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me,
sooooooo.....

I'm sure a faction would pop up whose sole aim was to make the Earth like the sun through fission. Sad, but probably true, there can be no pure religions where humans are involved..

Meh. What's the point? I mean, not worshipping the Sun isn't going to make the Sun angry or anything, so why waste our time with pleasing an inanimate object?
But yeah, at least it exists :)

All religions of ancient origin evolved from solar worship and astrotheology. Those who worship god, are actually worshipping the sun already, they just don't know it.
There's a reason church servives are held on SUNday.
