I mean honestly, say i have a small jimmy , slap me in the face and kick my dog on the way out the door. That would feel better than the inevitable friends line.

Because they are cowards. They are too worried about what they look like after breaking up with you and giving you an honest answer then they do if they say, "I think we should just be friends". If they say that, then blame is not on them and they can sleep better at night. There is always a reason someone breaks up with someone. There is a problem in the relationship, they lose interest, they wanna date around, they found someone else (most common)...ect. If a girl says that to you...say, "you know what? no, I don't want to be friends with you". Chances are, she has a naughty ulterior motive for why she's backing out. You don't wanna be friends with someone who has such bad moral fiber. I would like to tell you that as girls turn into women that they grow out of it, but they don't-not always. You just to have faith that the girls you choose are better than that.

Size of the jimmy is of no consequence. I've had quite the range. Some guys don't know how to wrangle their "jimmy". The being friends line, in my case, is sincere and has nothing to do w/anything other than we just don't have the needed chemistry of boyfriend/girlfriend. But that doesn't mean there can't be a friendship filled w/a different kind of love. Don't shut yourself down to that if possible.

I have a couple of men friends I very much wanted to keep as friends- I just didn't want to continue an exclusive relationship with them. Come to think of it, they were the ones who used the "friends" line, though, when they recognized that's where we both were. It's best when breakups can be mutual.

I think you've got a point, I think I'd rather have brutal honesty than the "I just want to be friends line". It hurts that they didn't even put enough effort into the breakup to think of their own reason. It makes it seem like they care about you even less

Girls say that when they are not interested in you sexually. But all the girls I know ( including myself) adore our male friends that we can just be friends with . Granted my best guy friends are gay but I do have a few heterosexual guys that I consider good friends that I know I can count on if I ever need them or they need me. If you have things in common with her and can do the "just friends" gig then consider your self lucky to have another friend. And if you want to pursue the friendship, just ask her out in group settings, don't pay her way, continue with the things you have in common and she just might see you in a clearer light.

Girls are taught to always be nice and never hurt anyones feelings. There was a 20/20 once where they made relay bad tasting lemonade and give it to girls to drink and asked them if it tasted good......and Evey girl, even if wincing, said it tasted good. Same thing with a break-up.

By saying "break off" is cold cut and full of enmity. Rather saying "be friends" is more friendly, no hatred. But it still means breaking off.
Don't imagine you've any chance. This imagination kills you softly.

Girls do not always say that. The ones that do, usually find that you two have nothing much in common, and they truly do want to be your friend.
