Most states require a last name for a death certificate, but the law varies as to what the last name of a new baby should be. In many states, the parents can choose, just like they choose the first name. Custom dictates that the baby have the father's surname, but not all states require it legally.

When a still born is born, it is treated like a live birth, as far as being given a name and yes it does get the last name of it's father. And also most parents do have a funeral for the deceased child.

They should! The child was carried to term and it might help with dealing with the loss as far as a burial.

^^^ You're still alive, aren't you? You can't BE a stillborn. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that they get the parents' last name.
