Every culture has its silly taboos. This is just one of them.

Good Question! Humans aren't meant to digest animal milk. We'd be better off all drinking breast milk. but in reality, after childhood, we don't NEED it, we should be getting calcium and other essential nutrients from green leafy vegetables and such.. anyways, good question though. and something tells me there are starving cultures that go for it...

And i'm sick of hearing this selfish thing.. or that the milk will dry up. the more you pump your breast milk, or the more that is sucked out or used, the more you produce. just like the less you use it the quicker it dries up. your body is very sensitive to replacing it as it is used and keeping up with demand. (explains how some mothers can breast feed their children into early childhood. a 3 year old OBVIOUSLY needs more than an adult.)

and to whoever made the comment about how there is a reason a mother lactates when she is expecting.. the only reason she ever STOPS is because she choses to wean the child because she doesn't want her child to bite her nipple. OUCH! there is nothing wrong with weaning, i sure as hell wouldn't feed a kid who was biting me, but theoretically, if hte mother never stopped nursing, she would never stop producting milk, whether she was expecting or a new mother or not. (Ever heard of a wet nurse?)

Men can also lactate, and so can non-pregnant women. with enough stimulation of the nipple SPECIFICALLY for the purpose of drawing out milk, or with certain chemical imbalances, or with hormone supplements, anyone with nipples can lactate!!!

I know of no bans from religious or from law. I think its only a personal thing in fact there is a resteront in china that has dishes that contain breast milk. people seem to have the misconception that there are no health benefits of human milk for adult consumption when infact breast milk is a good source of nutrients at any age.

colostrum. The clear/cloudy "pre-milk" that female mammals secrete prior to producing milk. Colostrum contains immunoglobulins (disease resistance factors). While there is a small body of evidence indicating that adult consumption of colostrum may have disease-fighting potential, there is no known benefit when colostrum is applied topically to skin.

Who has banned it? It may not be socially acceptable, but it's legal.

Go ahead and have some. But what's the point?
Breast milk is tailored exactly to the child's needs. Why waste it on an adult?

Men are so selfish! Can't stand that a woman is giving her breasts to the baby and not to them.

There's a very good and obvious reason why nature makes mothers lactate and have breast milk when they are expecting, through childbirth and the nursing stage of the baby. I don't think there's a 'ban' on adult consumption, but seriously, think of who is going to get deprived of the natural nutrients and resistance building.

They don't. Cow's milk is breast milk. But a grown adult wanting breast milk from a human woman is just sick. Its a breast and it feeds a baby. Its not there for some wierd baby fetish. So go drink your water and leave the breast for the baby.

The Bible talks about mothers nursing their infants. It goes on to say afterwards that the child is "weaned". This means that the child does not need the simplicity of milk but can now handle the complexity of food. I am not sure of the passage in the Bible but it talks about how we are baby christians when we are first saved and need to be given the "milk of the word". As we grow spiritually we become ready for the "meat of the word." So as we develop physically and spiritually, our needs change but God is always so good to make sure we get what we need.

it quite is a threat for some adult adult males to lactate, that's purely no longer very possibly. In lay mans words, adult adult males have nipples reason interior the womb all of us initiate out as women human beings, that's no longer till the activation of specific genes that reason a flush of the two testosterone or estrogen that make the appropriate decision of male or woman and by employing the time that happens, the cells that make up the nipples have already began to sort.

If breast milk weren't for babies, then why do women only get milk when they're pregnant? You don't see any adult mammals drinking milk from their mothers. It's not natural. If it were natural, cows, whales, sheep, elephants, all mammals would do it. Since we never saw anything in nature do it, we never did it.

Because breast milk is meant to feed and nourish your child, not an adult.

Because it is for babies not adults. Besides it would look kind of silly if a grown person was seen sucking on mama's tit.
