If you take the Birth Control Pills (BCP) correctly (that is taking it everyday and not forgetting any) then there is a less than 1% chance in a 12 month period, that you will become pregnant. However if you take antibiotics or have vomiting or diarrhoea while on the BCP then you might become pregnant because the pills may not be absorbed properly. You really do need to use condoms along with your BCPs. The pills protect you from an unintended pregnancy. Condoms protect you from Sexually Transmitted Diseases like HIV/AIDS.

If a female is using birth control it would be highly unlikely, but not impossible, that she would get pregnant. What you have to be careful about is that she watch what medications she takes in addition to birth control. Some antibiotics can negate the effects of birth control. In that situation you would, definitely, want to use some other form of protection.

Its unlikely to get pregnant when on the pill but still wear a condom because a its even less likely with both the pill and condoms and also condoms protects against sexually tranmitted infections and birth control pills don't.

Nothing is 100% effective. Most birth control is 99% effetive, but that still leaves that 1% possibility, and don't forget birth control pills do not protect against STDs.

No birth control is 100%- except having a tubal ligation ( even then they say that there is a very remote chance ). Don't take chances with your body- go online and research STDs- it's nasty and can be deadly too. Take care of someone's baby for a day. It's hard. Be responsible.

Safe sex is always recomended. Singular partner, using a condom in conjuncture with birth control. But if a person is using only B.C. I think it is something like a 99.7% success rate, (depending on the type of B.C.) So it is not likely, but it does happen.
