All of these people that reply Ali have no boxing experience and have probably never Tyson's nor Ali's earlier fights. Ali was a great fighter no doubt, however, had major flaws in his game that Tyson would have definitely exploited. Tyson was an extremely fast and acurate puncher...a brawler and boxer at the same time if you will. Ali was a runner. He ran away from opponents and got them disoriented, then beat them. Look at some of Tyson's earlier fights, his early record (KO's, TKO's, Wins, etc) and then make your decision. All I ask is that before you waste time writing your mindless blurbs, you study up (I mean, really study up, or know what you're talking about)...and then write something. This is a no-brainer...Tyson in the 4th.

Young Cassius Clay or Muhammad Ali? Either way Ali. Only the younger Clay would have knocked Tyson's dumb behind out earlier than the older Ali would have. Don't believe gdifreedom. He's totally wrong. Clay won a gold medal in the Olympics in '60 then came out a knocked a Tyson like fighter (Sonny Liston) out twice. Then he proceeded to beat the brakes off everybody he faced until he was stripped of his title for not responding to the draft and going to Vietnam. He came back after an extended absence from boxing and won the title again. Don't forget the caliber of boxers Ali faced and won against. Norton, Frazier, Foreman, all beasts and champions in their own rights. Tyson would not have beaten any of those fighters. He won against low caliber characters who really didnt deserve boxing licenses. Look at what happened to him when real boxers got a hold of him
They put his booty to sleep in the ring. Evander, Lewis when he learned to box. A perennial bum knocked him out after showing Tyson that he wasn't scared of him (Buster Douglas). Now even low rate nobodies beat Tyson for an afternoon warmup. Tyson had a chance to be great like Ali but he blew it big time.

I believe that, Ali and tyson would have been an excellent fight. I feel that most people say, Ali because they have heard everyone say that, Ali would win so they want to fit in with the rest of the crowd and say it as well.

Ali can dance and use his rope a dope all in all with style but lacked the speed and power that, tyson held at one point and time in his life.

Tyson: 1 punch knockout expert
Ali: combonation knockout expert ( had to use several punches )

Tyson: Youngest to win a world Heavy Weight Belt at age 18
Ali: Won Championship Belt at age 34 facing Foreman.

Tyson: Fast punching just as a light or middle weight devision puncher. Proven Fact

Ali. Average punching speed is that of a regular heavy weight.

You must remember that skill nor power; neither one have the power alone to be a winner. It's how they are used in order to achive success. Both fighters had the heart and strive to succeed and I think that it is biased to assume one could win over the other because of skill or power that one average higher over the other on.

If, Ali could dance around Tysons punches, then it may be reasonable to assume that he could win.

If, Tyson charged in as he likes to do and landed his hard hitting punches, then it may be reasonable to assume that he could win. It could go both ways.

Ali would have won. He would have frustrated tyson with his speed and smarts. ali would have clinched Tyson in close and lets not forget how good Ali's chin was. I dont think Ali would knock Tyson out, but he would win a decison in my opinion.
