Are you sure you want a bedroom set? Buying pieces individually is much more interesting to the eye and more fun. First of all, buy yourself a quality bed. That's the most important piece. After that, why not try yard sales for dressers and side tables? Until you find a dresser you like, use shelves in your closet (you might actually like the extra room this allows in the bedroom). Try a piece of furniture from another room in the bedroom (making the other room less cluttered). Maybe an old trunk could be used as a bed table. Be creative and enjoy the process.

I recommend buying pieces individually, to give the room character. Sets make the room look so average and cookie cutter. Go to yard sales, flea markets, auctions, second hand shops, etc. If you really want a decent set though, I would try target. Believe it or not, they actually have some beautiful furnitiure at a remarkably low cost. Good luck on finding the perfect bedroom furniture!

Look in the paper for ads. Go to auctions. Or look up FREECYCLE in your area (yahoo groups) because folks give things away and the only catch is it HAS to be 100% free!! You could always advertise WANTED in the paper, too.
