When hair becomes dry or damaged, the hair shaft splits at the end. Here's how you can keep those unsightly splits from spoiling the looks of your locks.
Steps:
1. Keep brushing to a minimum since it promotes breakage. Brushing wet hair is a definite no-no; use a wide-toothed comb when hair is wet.
2. Strive for low-maintenance hair. Hair dryers, curling irons, perms and hair colors all damage hair. If you must blow-dry, use a cool setting and keep the dryer 6 inches (15 cm) from your hair.
3. Protect your hair from extreme weather. Wear a hat on sunny days and keep hair well moisturized in the dry winter months.
4. Apply a leave-in conditioner or pomade to the ends of your hair daily to keep them strong.
5. Snip away any split ends you spot. Cut at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) above the split. A split end will split the hair all the way up to the scalp, so snip it as soon as you spot it.
6. Schedule a trim with your hairstylist if you start seeing a lot of split ends.
Overall Tips:
Ask your stylist to recommend thermal protection products.
Overall Warnings:
Be wary of promises from the makers of products for split ends. These bind the hair shaft temporarily. The only real cure is a haircut.

There's this little device called The Split Ender. You turn it on and run it through your hair and it takes off any split ends. It really does work. Try conditioning your hair often to prevent split ends.

I am sorry to tell you the only thing that you can do for spit ends is cut them. If you don't all they will end up doing is splitting farther and farther up and it will look like your hair was cut anyway. The only thing is that it will be much shorter than if you would have just gotten it trimmed in the beginning.
Hope this helps~Bon

Split ends happen because the hair is damaged. They can only be cut off.
What you need to do is take good care of your hair and not damage it. Perms, hair dye, hair dryers and sun all damage hair. If you wash it too much, that will also damage it.
The links I've given have split end advice.

There is absolutely no product that "gets rid of " split ends, there are products that "protect against " split ends, your only solution is to have them cut off, and you need to do that asap, otherwise they will continue to split upwards forcing you to have to go shorter and shorter with your haircut. Good Luck.

The only way to get rid of split ends is to CUT THEM OFF!!! There are products that "hide" split ends such as glossing serums and anti-frizz creams, but you CANNOT fix damage without cutting it.

The only way to rid your split ends is to trim them. I would not recommend doing it yourself though.....It may turn out uneven.....Have someone else who knows what they are doing trim them for you.
