someone told me that its bad for them.... but i feed mine lettuce all the time!!!

Lettuce itself isn't going to kill your budgies. But however some lettuce type are just full of moisture and contain no real nutrients that the birds require, too much of it can cause the birds to have the diarrhea. An occasional bit of lettuce is ok, but I wouldn't give them lettuce everyday. Dark leafy green veggies are best like English spinach, endives, and also the chinese greens veggies such as the pak choy are great for them.

Dark green lettuce like Romaine is Great. White or light green lettuce like Iceberg is fairly useless nutritionally.

No its not! I had a parakeet for 12 years and another one for 11 and they ate lettuce becuase its greens its good for them. Its better than them always eating just seed witch over time can kill them. I have another budgie and he loves it. So your fine.

lettuce, iceberg has no nutritional value, and also if they eat just that, may give them watery stools, stick to their proper diet, if you want to give them a treat try other more exotic type of stick seeds, go to the pet store and seek assistance with correct types of food for budgies.

It's okay for them to eat it.My budgies liked lettuce.There are other veggies with better nutritonal value ,though.
Do you have any manuals on budgies? It is very helpful to have expert sources of information available to you at all times.In these books they list good food sources so you can tailor a diet for your special pals.

ya i wouldnt feed your birds any kind of lettuce. stick to the proper diet, also iceburg is the worst kind of lettuce you can get any animal, has no nutritional value, and will give them diarreah

lettuce is ok in moderation-but remember it is mostly water and on some occasions it can cause diarrhea so use it sparingly---giving scrambled eggs once in a while is good especially if it is a female.
