Yes, many infants do get excessively tired during teething. I have an 8 month old who is still teething, and gets that way form time to time. The reason for this, is during teething, they wake up easily and have a hard time falling back to sleep. All the nap and sleep interuptions make them more tired, and irritable. It may seem lilke they are more tired, but they are really just trying to catch up for the sleep that they miss.
For our son, we put some baby oral gel on his gums right before he goes to sleep. If he wakes up, then we give him some Baby tylenol or motrin. A wash clothe or teething toy may help too.

I would think if he's not sleeping 'well' then yes, he would continue to be tired. One thing about those 'teething tablets' is that they contain a sedative (belladonna)- it tells you on the label. so if you are already using those, lay off them a little and switch to orajel. Some kids (like my son) just have a lot of problems teething. they're really not that predictable. Good luck!!!

I guess I never thought about it, but when my kids were teething, it seemed like they took longer naps, but didn't sleep so well at night.
I think this is normal, but teething is hard to go through. If it really concerns you, call your doctor.

My child was the same way. It's normal. To settle your nerves, just ask the dr. during your child's next well baby checkup.
