She's Naval Inteligence. The term "spook" is a nick name given to those in the Intel biz like CIA, NSA, etc. They operate in the shadows and are hard to track like ghost or spooks. Thus the term.

the term "Spook" generally refers to someone involved in the intelligence gathering services. All military branches use them in one fashion or another.
If you don't have a reason to believe her then don't, if she has never lied to you in the past then she is most likely being honest now. Give her the benefit of the doubt and don't worry about it!

There is a difference between having faith and being unwise. For instance, I wouldn't go lay myself on a train track and play that God will save me, that's just stupid. So dropping heath insurance wouldn't be trusting God it would be unwise I really hope this helps answer your question!! ^u^

A "Spook" is a spy. If someone professes to being a spy, I would tend to doubt them, or at very least doubt their competence.
If your family member works in Naval intelligence, she probably has a boring job, like counting grains of sand in satellite photos, or predicting the weather on the north pole, and is trying to spice it up for you.
