You can do people searches on the net but if he has a really common name you may have problems. You can hire someone to do the searching. What I would do is find him first without your daughter knowing. Talk with him and let him know his daughter wants to meet him. Keep in mind he walked out when you were pregnant so he may not give a crap, if thats the case then drop it and plainly explain to your daughter that right now wouldn't be the best time to locate her dad. Allow her to try when she is 18.
If you decide to find him together and he doesn't want anything to do with your daughter then it will only make her upset.

try the electral role or look his name up in the phone book. tried google? If you "dont bother" your daughter might resent you for it later, even if he turns out to be the pathetic prick he was 10 years ago & wants nothing to do with either of you, then at least your daughter can stop wondering & knows that she has such a supportive mum to help her though it & accept it so she can focus on something way more important...her wonderful bright future. Best of luck to you :o)

I think you should let her seek her real father. I was 16 when I decided to look for my father. My mother wasn't over the moon about it but accepted it. It turned out that my father and I didn't really have alot in common and I haven't seend him since then. I'm 25 now. As for finding him, I couldn't tell you 'friends re-united maybe'

tell her what happened and if she still wants to meet him which she prob will as when its all said and done he is her father, explain you dont know any details.....
tell her his name etc and anything you can remember (dont be too negative as she may resent you) try gettgin a private investigator or try something like genes reunited, my mums boyfriend found family through it
good luck and whatever you think about the guy dont let it come between her possible realtionship with him, or between you and her

have you tried looking on a school reunited site or something like that? He may have joined. Or you could go on Trisha, she'll find him for you.
