Some research shows that small amounts of beer and wine (4-8oz wine, 12-24oz beer) may be helpful in cleansing the kidney and urinary tract as they increase the amount of fluids flushed from the blood stream. There are also some claims it will help with heart functions and may help prevent type 2 diabetes. However, as with anything, too much is harmful. The liver metabolizes the alcohol as does the kidney. If the system is overloaded it will eventually cause permanent damage to either or both organs. This damage is life threatening at a certain point, but with moderate levels of drinking takes years to attain. And of course, never get behind the wheel of a car if you have been drinking. More than half of the alcohol related deaths in the U.S. are from DWI crashes.
Having a drink or two each night or each week should be OK, and may be beneficial. for more info check out the following link. http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/alcohol.html
It is also wise to check with your doctor or health care provider to see if you have any other conditions or on medications that are contraindicated for alcohol consumption.

Not useful unless you really are talking about using it as an antiseptic for wounds/or in surgery and/or to retain body heat in extremely fatal cold temperatures e.g. in the Himalayas for example...
Of course theres some research studie out there which says drinking wine in moderation may be beneficial in avoiding heart diease/strokes, but all of it is empirical and some suspect them to be tainted research propaganda.

The only thing that is said to be good is 6 to 8 oz. of red wine. That's kinda it. Wishful thinking though.

Wine (red wine) is good for your blood (not for those you have hypertension) and there is a alcoholic drink, I do not know how is said in English, (tuica in Romanian) is good for the stomach that has been effected by the acid. Beer is good for kigknees (I know that I spelled it wrong).
