Because sex is a gift that God gave us to use WITHIN THE MARRIAGE BED, and I am enjoying that gift with my husband.

I think you refer to a specific "mating season" for humans. There are only specific times in a 28 day cycle when a woman CAN become pregnant. Usually it is a few days prior to her period and occasionally a couple of days into her period. Any other time during that cycle, it is nearly impossible to become pregnant. There are exceptions to every rule, however, not many to this one.

If sex is for procreation among married persons only, why do those married people have sex any time other than ovulation? If it cannot result in procreation, it is a sin.
Fascinating train of thought. I'm gonna have to ponder this further. I might need to write a letter to my legislature about banning all sex when a woman is not ovulating. It's just not natural to have sex for pleasure. That's not what god made it for.

I don't have that much sex! Am I missing out? Will have to tell my husband about this. Seems he owes me some. Seriously though. Sex is not just for reproduction. It is the closest you can get to another soul in this life. With sex we can express love.My husband and I will not be having anymore children but are sex life is still as good because it is a way to keep our marriage healthy. It keeps us emotionally, mentally,physically, and spiritually connected. We are the closest in those moments.

Both humans and non-human animals copulate for the same reason - because it feels good. Animals don't think "ok, it's time to increase our species."

We are not the only creatures on the planet to have sex for pleasue, dolphins do as well. I would think that part of it is simply a hormone issue that we don't have

where did you get this idea? in comparison with some animals, we are sex scrooges! unfortunately, some of us are still under this Empire of Eunuchs, who worship a mad, sterile, jealous and aseptic god.
Luckily, many others (with more sexual health) worship the Old Gods and the Divine Couple. so, let's ****.

I don't know a single person that has sex every single day of the year. I sure don't. I know a lot of good looking horny pervs that get any woman they want and they don't even have sex that much.

For 1 thing it gives us pleasure, not sure about animals! For another, man doesn't always hit the bullseye, how many times you 'do your wife w/e' and how many kids you got? And last because we freaking can!!!!!!!!!
