He hates waiting on someone to serve him and is afraid they are spitting in his food, and doesn't like sitting in a restaraunt. We have 3 kids and they stress him out to while eating out. I try to get a babysitter as often as possible but still he hates it. I love to eat out because I can relax and not cook or have to clean up. Plus I don't like to eat stuff I cook for some reason, so I get a better meal if we eat out. Also it seems like we get quality family time eating out. We can't always get everyone at the table at the same time. Any ideas?

You must be a good cook. I don't have any good answers. One idea might be that you get take out food from nice restaurants. Not McDonald's , but order good food from a good restaurant and eat it at home. This doesn't help YOU in getting out of the house, but it does let you avoid cooking and the only cleanup would be the table dishes.

How old are your kids? They might be ready to begin taking responsibility for setting the table, clearing the table, or washing the dishes.

Tell your husband he has a choice; eating out once or twice a week without complaining OR HE cooks and serves and cleans up twice a week.

As far as family time, you better let it be known that unless it is unavoidable the kids WILL be at the table or they won't eat. That is how I was brought up and I am thankful for it (I wasn't at the time though).

Have your meals catered in. Pick up a bucket of the colnet and stay home. Family all sits at the table and eats.

I too am an eating out person...but would never have children accompany me or my spouse on these dinners that are for 2.

Try to plan better.

Send the kids to granmas house and do an initimate catered meal for 2 in your home. You'll get the nice eating experience and it will be an initimate dinner at home for your hubby. Candles, music....set the mood....

Enjoy

I'm not sure anyone other than liberal hate-monger and aldulterer Jesse "The Sperminator" Jackson has ever spat in diner's food, something he admitted proudly to once. I will admit to absolutely being grossed out at the state of silverware in American dining establishments. Absloutely GROSS! Plasticware is MUCH more preferable, but I can understand your hubby wondering what happens in the kitchen if moronic, money-grubbing businesses without proper training and supervision have silverware with food particles still hanging on them. To answer your question, though, introduce him to the new Burger King TRIPLE Whopper with cheese value meal -- and a good cardiologist. Good luck!

If does not like to eat out, don't force him. It only makes for a bad time for both of you. Do you have friends? Let that be something you do with your friends occassionally. A little get away from the motherly and wifey duties. On that day, do something simple for them like Pizza or Taco's.

Okay, I know this might sound bad, but I think you should try doing take-out since you don't have to wait that long to get the food. Also, try going to places where there is food that both you and your husband likes. I hope this will help you.

Tell the hubby to do a bbq or go to Domino's. You need an occasional break from cooking.

Maybe if you crawl under the table while you are eating out he would be more likely to want to go.
