YOu will know it by the time you bought ur TV they have thier catalogs saying that your TV your about to BUY is HDTV or HD-ready. Just read it and find out!

Check to see if it has a separate antenna input for digital channels. If so, it is a complete HDTV. Most sets made recently are required by law to have digital tuners (they don't have to be HD tuners, but they usually are).
