My puppy is on science diet and has been for the last 2 months. Prior to that she was on some other grocery brand . currently i give her science diet dry food with the new pedigree naturals for puppy tinned food. I have not noticed an improvement when we changed her to science diet. Her personality is the same, and even now she gets runny poo depite not being fed any "human food". should i change her diet completely to the new pedigree naturals? (ie. pedigree naturals dry+ pedigree tnaturals tinned).
What is your take on the new pedigree natural line anyways?
i don't want to waste my money on science diet, if it's much the same as the pedigree line.

I wouldn't feed either (nor IAMS).

I wish SD would spend a little less on advertising and a little more on the food. Crappy, yet high priced.

There are good nutrition articles online. Read some and then go to your feed store and study labels. Cheap usually means crappy food, but many higher priced foods are not very good either.

Personally I wouldn't feed my dogs either. They both have a one star rating at the site I listed below. I switched my dogs from Iams to Canidae. It does cost a little more, but they are eating less and the 20# bag of food is lasting a little longer. So bottom line, spend more, feed less often, better diet, SAVE MONEY$$$$ I made the switch gradually, introduced it with their existing diet, then made the switch completely. I fill their bowls once a day, where with the Iams, it was twice a day. I have 3 dogs. Lab mix, and 2 bichon frise. Choose wisely and avoid the crap in a bag. Canidae, is the closet you can get to a natural diet in a bag. There are others that are even better yet, but I am happy with my decision.

Try less soft food. The puppy dry food should provide the essential nutrients and fats. Also, make sure to take a sample (feces) to your vet to rule out any sickness. This shouldn't be very expensive, depending on where you live. By the way, I have two small dogs, both under a year, I use science diet. I truly believe, and I have seen a difference in the kind of dog foods. My husband goes nuts at the store when I take him to get dog food. I look at every lable. The first four ingredients in good dog food will consist of meat...... no corn!!!! dogs cannot digest corn. goodluck

Honestly I would try Iams. I have all 3 of my dogs on this and do not have a problem with them having diahrea. If the puppy has a delicate belly try Iams lamb and rice dry food. This is also good for there skin. Also, everytime you switch the dogs diet, most likely you will have to deal with runny poo for abotu 2 to 3 days after that.

Science Diet only for my dogs.
I have yet to go to a Vet, Trainer or, Real Breeder(not the ones that only do it for the money) that do not use Science Diet.
SD has meat as at least 3 of its main ingredients and minimal amounts of filler resulting in less poop.

My dogs hate science diet and in my opinion it is too expensive and not worth a crap. you do not want to feed your dog canned dog food all the time they need the dry also.
I do not feed my dogs dogfood, i feed them the barf diet now use to feed them dogfood and had poor results. Will never feed them dry dogfood again. But the barf diet has to be researched by a person first to get the nutrients right. but if you want a good dogfood, read the ingrediants in the dogfood and see what the first ingrediants are, If they are meat then that can be a good dogfood. If the ingrediants are grains and soy, pass it up as it is no good for them. I have heard Eukanuba is good.

I cook my dogs dinner with rice, vegies, and meat (whichever you prefer) since starting to this the have improved heaps the are more active, are a great size, and their coates are fantastic try it you can even cook a weeks worth up one day and freeze it and pull it out when you need if you don't want to be cooking for your dog every night. Good Luck!
