Do you like to breath? Well if you do then you will want to conserve the forests. You see humans take in oxygen and give off carbon dioxide, trees on the other had take in carbon dioxide and give off oxygen. Not only that but the whole world is a very fine tuned and very well balanced system. The whole system has to be working for us to live. If we continue to destroy forests and other natural places we will eventually break the system where it can't work, and then we will die. I personally like living, so I will do what I can to conserve the forests.

That is the same as asking why should one save ones lungs. The forests are the Earth's lungs and we are already at half capacity. If we lose the other half we perish. Plain and simple!
