hair grows on average 1/2 inch a month, except when you are a teen or pregnant. Hormones are the effective agent. Fine hair seems to grow just a bit slower than medium or course hair. Sorry to dispel another answer, cutting hair does not make it grow faster, (it is not a plant, it grows from the scalp , not the ends!). Healthy hair though does not break off, defeating the growth process, so an occasional trim, keeps this from occurring. Quite often hair seems to grow a bit faster in warmer months, possibly because it increases our activity level (thus hormonal levels). Use good products, don't over abuse it with driers, irons, chemicals, and your hair will be healthy and achieve as much as possible in its growth.

Massage is not for the hair but for the scalp. The scalp is supplied with blood vessels and so massaging the scalp, while clearing (removing) the dead cells in the upper layers of the skin, will stimulate blood flow. This will lead to nourishing the roots of the hair and thus could (I don't think it is medically proven though) stimulate growth.
Hair can only be coated (with colour, shiny oils and so on) while the scalp needs massaging...

No. Hair grows an average of half an inch a month and growth cannot be externally stimulated.

no. but tying your hair back regularly (like a ponytail) makes it grow faster, as the pressure on the hair causes it to grow. =)

I do not know if massagingwill make it grow faster, but a solution will be to wash it as often as you can, maybe everyday. But take care: it could become oily or sleazy and fragile.

No, hair is a mass of dead cells. Massaging it will do nothing (aside from stimulating your scalp and making it more oily, probably).
