The same question then I may ask..why Muslims can divorse and then re-marry? I doubt that you've read and fully understood the Holy Bible( I don't want to offense you at all,I am extremely tolerant person),as I can state in general that unfortunately many of the "rules" said to Muslim people through the Quran by the prophet Mohamed are also not followed..Actually,we have the same rights..I don't know where is the problem..?

The Bible does not say that -- at least not as generalized as you have made it.
It does state that it's God's intent for people NOT to divorce -- that is the ideal, and divorce is a painful and destructive thing (since it involves betrayal and the breaking of vows to another that were supposed to be permanent).
But the Old Testament officially legalized various types of divorce, and Jesus himself permits it because of the "hardness of men's hearts" (i.e., some people would refuse to stop their adultery, violating the spouse over and over, which God would find shameful and harmful for the innocent party as well as an insult against the example of God). The remarriage of the adulterer is wrong; generally, the violated party's remarriage is morally permitted.
That being said, I don't think you're in a position to say who is a "true Christian" and who is not. That's rather presumptuous a comment to make, considering you haven't really explored the issue in depth and you're passing mortal judgment (i.e., denying their salvation?!) on brothers and sisters in Christ whom you have never met. That is shaky ground to stand on; I know I would fear to tread there.
There are many books on this topic if you are interested in understanding why some people make allowance in certain situations.
The best two I have read so far are listed below. Both explore how the "divorce" laws and morality would have been interpreted in the Jewish culture in old Israel as well as at the time of Christ, and what the practice of the Jews and Christians were at those times.
While it's a good question, to understand what something means you really need to examine the context in which the regulations were made and what the original people actually believe God permitted.

The key word you mentioned is allow. God allows many things but that doesn't mean He approves of it or says that it is benefits the believer. The laws of the state and governments allow divorce and in a free society that is the rule of the land. The west is not a government run by religion or religious leaders even though the leaders may profess to be Christan or may be Christians or religious people. Many laws in the west however are found to have been based upon Biblical principals but the separation of Church and State in a free society provides for many liberties that might be considered impossible in a foreign society.

If 2 people no long er love each other why should they stay married? What if one of them is cheating on the other, or abusing the there partner mentally or physically. If someone is hurting there partner then its best get out of that marriage and have a divorce. Not point staying with someone if there gonna make u miserable for the rest of ur life. I'm glad the people can get divorced here it would be awful to stuck with an abusive partner.

I am a Christian and I agree with you. It is bullshit that our culture, even many, many "Christian" churches and individuals, have embraced divorce as a valid alternative to working things out.
What it comes down to is that people do whatever they want regaurdless of what they know they should do, for the most part. If they want something bad enough, they will make an excuse for it. Bunch of ******* hypocrites.
In fact I believe I am the only sane individual left on this planet, with the possible exception of anyone who will agree with me. lol.

Trixie,
why is it that you and other people think that Christians think they are perfect??? I know I am not perfect. That is why I ask Christ to forgive me. That makes me a Christian - believing only Christ can forgive. He paid the price for my sins. I've never lived thinking that I'm better than anyone else.
As for allowing divorce and remarriage in the west, it's not what God has intended for his people. People, thinking they know better than God, have gone and changed the laws making it permissable. He intends for us to always Honour our spouses. If both husband and wife really loved eachother, they would try to love, forgive, and work things out. If everyone did that - you wouldn't need a divorce.

Hey, it's a free country. Besides, Moses and Jesus DID permit divorce. At least they had their heads screwed on right about that one, otherwise we would have been screwed. Anyway, even if they hadn't, some preacher would have found a way of circumventing them, as they usually can do with any command in the bible.

God is a divorcee, He divorced Israel and Judah.
Isa 54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.
Jer 3:8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

Personal freedoms of choice.
I don't agree with divorce but, I don't agree with two people who can't live together being forced to do so. Creates too much misery.
People in the Middle East may choose to live as they please. Remember, though a bad marriage kept may make you look holier than thou in society, a bad marriage cause misery among those closest to you and those who should matter most, your children.

Khalid , there are very few Christians in this world. By having a european name one does not become a christian. I dont think people in the west even marry in Church, Most of them even dont get married.... Its Human Beings..... Man & Woman...... Not Christians. Brother May Christ Lead you in your quest for truth. Be at peace, When you hear him knock at the door of your heart , Just open. Don't judge him by what people do.. They don't follow their maker.. You do what he tells you to. The Bible which you are reading nowadays , its your manual, just study it.
