Woke-up this morning 7/2/06, found a stillborn kitten in hallway. I was wondering if there might be other kittens. My wife and I have looked at all of the usual places to find the others, but no luck. She does not appear to be pregnant anymore, she is very social able and wants to be petted allot. Is it possible she isn't finished having her litter, I have read that a usual litter is 4 to 5 kittens. Are there anymore?

yes a litter can be any where from 4-6 kittens, it may be possible that the mother ate her kittens, i know it seems awful, but some cats do that.... she may also have had them outside(if she goes outside), and brought the still born in, also kittens can be born about half an hour apart, one of my girls had a litter back in march and the other is due soon. did u check the attic or basement? drawers, laundry baskets small areas? i hope i helped some...

Cats often do a very good job hiding their kittens. Usually to find my cats kittens, I just follow her until she goes back to them. She's had a full liter of stillborns (all except one) but thats no cause for much alarm if she only had one. It is possible that she isn't finished having her liter. My cat had two kittens a day for three days once...but then again she's a nuclear mutant with two paws on each leg

search again all over the house. and have your wife take your cat to the vet quickly she may still be pregnant.

and a small advice in a few weeks spay your cat it will help to prevent any more pregnancies in the future.

There could be more to come, but she may have just had that one.
My chow had only one puppy.
