I know that very little is known about atmospheric physics with only a handfull of specialists in the whole world,so can someone explain what changes are expected if greenhouse gas emissions are reduced,in what time frame they are expected and if at all these changes will occur.Also in what time frame do we expect disaster if global warming is not stopped.

The world is now in preservation mode and it currently taking steps to save herself. She sees the human race as a cancer and will over the next 30 to 40 years make massive changes to control the cancer. We as a race will probably not die out for a long while yet but be prepared to take stock of yourself and to make changes in your life style not because world leaders say it but because mother earth (or Gaia) will enforce it.

The Discovery Channel did a special a couple of weeks ago about this subject. If not stopped soon, the cycle will be irreversable

It is already happening and some one who can do something on a big scale had better wake up fast! We can do small stuff and together maybe make a difference. It's very scary.

it is irreversible but we can stop it from happening quickly!
for example if you had not used the computer to find the answer to this q and gone to the library or something then we cud have stopped it from getting even warmer!

probably take as much time to reverse effects as it took to come to this point in the first place. thats what i think anyways.
