Here's a chilling quote from Capri, "the bible is the final and only word and authority."

Born Again C... you want me to define appear, the Bible is open to many interpretations not just by the many many different Christian denominations but by outsiders too...some civil laws may appear to contradict the Bible or conflict in some way...think Abortion, gays, capital punishment. In the fairly recent past the Bible was used both to defend slavery and used to help abolish it.

No one knows for certain who wrote the contradictory bible, but we certainly know who wrote our reasonable civil laws.

The Bible says to obey the Laws of the Land unless it contradicts the Bible. God is the final Authority. He will judge all Nations.

That is an excellent question; particularly since scenarios like this may pop up in real life from time to time. Romans 13:1-7 makes it patently clear that true Christians are to be in subjection to the civil authorities. Christ had commanded the disciples to preach and teach the good news of God's kingdom. The Supreme Court had positively ordered them to desist from same. Yet notice how the apostles responded to the authorities of the Sanhedrin (the Jewish Supreme Court) after being confronted yet again for this preaching work. We find their response at Acts 5:29: “We must obey God as ruler rather than men.”

Therefore, as long as the civil authorities do not require us to break God’s law, we must be in subjection to them. But when their law conflicts with God’s law, true Christians respond as did the first century apostles above: “We must obey God as ruler rather than men.”

Christians aren't suppose to accept nor obey any civil laws that conflict with the Bible!........ But unfortunately We do.

Christian accept and obey civil laws daily that conflict with our moral fibers, because of pressure, not understanding or knowing the WORD,traditions, but mostly because it's not comfortable to put up a stink (Not wanting to appear Holy we sometime cop out)

God gave choice unfortunately left to our own devices we usually don't chose His way. Thank God He gave us Jesus to save us from ourselves.

Classic story read Daniel 1-3:26 about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.

No. We are supposed to be subject to the law our government (king, dictator ect.) makes, unless those laws clearly violate Scripture. Then we must not obey them. Christians (real) are bound to obey the law. But God's word trumps man's law in any case. This is a clear teaching from the Bible.

Firstly,i don't think the law will ever contradict the Bible because the makers of the law I suppose are also Chrisitians who are reading The Scriptures.
If ever it will,as you said, then it is now up to us if we will accept and obey the laws and suffer the consequences or follow the Bible.

I am a Catholic Christian and I can tell you that I am required to obey all the laws of my country, state, city, as long as they do not conflict with the laws of God. I do not therefor believe in abortion, assisted suicide, death penalty or such. As for slavery I do not agree with that either. The bible does not demand that we practice slavery so therefore I do not feel we should have slaves.
As for homosexuality I think it is wrong but I leave the judging up to God. As for the gentleman who said we Christians would approve of murdering gays You are wrong. Murder is murder regardless of who is killed. It is not a Christian's job to judge but Gods.

Why is that a chilling quote? Tom Paine would agree in substance, though he would name something besides the Bible as the source of his moral compass. Religion is the morality of the masses, so if a law contradicts that morality, that is as much as to say it is wrong in the eyes of the people. Now the people could be wrong, but it makes total sense for them to oppose any law that they sincerely believe to be immoral.
Also, the Bible gives a general decree to be flexible in following the laws of the land so as to be good citizens. This reduces the number of laws Christians are morally obligated to defy. But fact is, believing anything whatsoever about morality has the potential to force you to defy a law you believe to be wrong.

The Bible states we are to obey the laws of the nation we live in.No Christian can obey a law that would force them to do what is against God.That is why we vote and take part in the formation of laws and statutes.

I believe it is up to each person to interrupt the bible in their own way. The bible is a book of stories that are written to give us a guide to live in a morally sound way. Somethings to consider are the bible was not written today, we do not always relate to society of that time, and we have been desensitized by our own culture and evolution. If the same events occurred in today's era, the bible would be written in a completely different tone and manner.

well they have to. but i thnk if they hada choice theyd go with the rule of the bible.

if someone came to them and asked if gay people should be considered "murdered" if they were killed for being gay...then im sure the christians would answer no. and theyd fight for the murderer to go free.

there are groups of people out there that want to secede (move apart) fro mthe US and create a christian nation...where the only rules are the ones from ther bible....its some kind of christian exodus thing. i think the website is like christianexodus.com or something. check it out.
