Ignore that first response. A croquembouche is a beautiful cake for a wedding. If you are planning to do both the main wedding cake that you will cut into with your significant other as well as a groom's cake, lots of people go for the croquembouche as the groom's cake.
They are traditionally French so still not overly common in North America and they make great conversation pieces amongst the guests.

You know what? I had NO idea what you were talking about, so IGoogled it. the very first thing that pops up, is a a site about croquembouche being a "wedding cake". So I say sure!! Sounds REAL good!!!! A lot better than the tiered thing with all the frosting.

Ignore the first idiot who posted, obviously they are the ones with no taste and do not know what a croquembouche is. Yes it's a great idea, you can use it instead of serving dessert and they are really versatile as you can use different flavour fillings for the rolls. If you get a really good cake maker, they can decorate it with spun sugar, that looks superb

i say sure! my husband and i chose to have ice cream cake for our wedding. neither of us are big on the whole store made cake idea... we had a barbeque as well, because we weren't so big on the whole fancy food idea. we wanted to dance and party.. you know what i mean?
don't listen to anyone whoe says it means you have no class/etc. it's your wedding! have fun! the planning and the day of our stressful enough! anyways, if anyone doesn't like it, they can pay for the reception to have it the way they want it!

I know it's the traditional French wedding cake, but unless you're French, it looks kind of strange. I guess...depends on the style of the wedding.

That's the original wedding cake, so what's the problem? Go for it, if you like it and he likes it, that's all that matters.

Only if you are common and have no style. If you do have one, you should hold the ceremony at your local RSL. Is you name Shazza?
