You do not have to spend hundreds or thousands on a wedding gown. There are many places where you can get a white dress which is beautiful for a wedding dress, but costs less than $100.00.
Dont spend so much on the wedding that it will cause extra stress on the marriage afterwards.
If you cant afford a wedding gown, then by all means, dont use one. No one cares if you are wearing a $5,000.00 wedding gown or a $90.00 Sears dress, you will be just as beautiful as a bride either way.

Look on ebay and consignment shops becuase you can usually get them pretty cheap. Where I'm from, some people also sell them in the local newspaper. I got mine at a bridal shop off the discount rack because the style is no longer being made. I still paid $500, but thats a big step down from the original $1000 it cost. My husband and I had a great wedding for very cheap and we were in the same situation. I work at Tim Hortons and he works at KFC so we did the best we could. We had the reception in my parents backyard, got married at a little wedding chapel for $250, mom made the food for the wedding, got decorations and things from the dollar store, had the cake made at a local bakery for $25. It was great. good luck!

Davids Bridal has a $99.00 sale every so often.
Consignment stores are great for gently used dresses.
Another thing you can look at is not a wedding dress, per se, but something formal.
For my wedding, I actually wore a bridesmaid dress that was beautiful for a simple wedding. And, I have seen other brides using that same dress for their wedding dress.

wow those silly folks at McDonalds just giving away money...and why they chose only to give him a little bit is beyond me.
Try this sweety.....he earns only a little bit...notice the shift in responsibility. Now he earns only a little bit, therefore we can spend only a little bit...notice how those two go together? Go to Walmart...pick up a McCalls pattern (yes they have wedding dresses) and begin to sew....sew...sew. I realize that a wedding dress is a brides most valued asset of the day so I'll skip the part about how really unimportant it is. Oh yeah..which is it, ONE month or TWO?

Check out stores like Kohl's, JC Penny's or any department store. Just look for a white or ivory semi-formal summer dress. Believe when yo uadd a veil (check thrift stores or borrow one) it will look like a wedding dress.
I got my wedding dress (white lace, tea length) at Kohls after Easter for $39 and bought a veil from a thrift store for $3. All I did was sew on some sating flowers to the headband. It looked just fine!!

Well, I don't know where you are located, but, I've seen some awesome cheap wedding dresses at consignment shops. Look them up in the yellow pages. I've seen them under $100.00. If worse comes to worse, just were a pretty dress and him to wear a suit.

Would you consider DIY? At least one of my friends design her own wedding dress by sewing beautiful beads to a simple white dress. Their wedding was on shoe-string budget but nevertheless it is a great marriage because of their love and commitment. At the end, that's what count.

You should check out ebay - ask the seller their measurements - including height - see if they will throw in the shoes.
Also some wedding portals like bride online sell pre loved dresses.... oh - and look up some designers... they usually have factory outlets
