I wander too. Any graven image, statues, are a sin. Mary was a great woman, because she was the virgin Mary, who carried the son of GOD, who was Jesus. But you are not suppose to worship her. GOD is first in all things. If you put your money first, or your job, and other things, these can also become a god that you put before Him. If you would like to look up other information on this subject go to bibleprobe.com. They have a whole section on other religions.

Your thoughts about Catholicism is wrong. The Statues & Images are reminders, Just as you see a picture of your loved one. Just see beyond Images. The Catholics also offer a Sacrifice of Bread & Wine ( Body & Blood of Christ). This is because Christ commanded " Do this in Memory of Me". The Catholic Church was formed in the Upper room on Pentacost Day. This Church was formed on Jesus's Command " Wait there till you will be empovered from above" and the most important thing, Its the oldest church ( more than 2000yrs)and it still holds to the teachings of christ . Christ said " every tree which my heavenly father has not planted will be uprooted & thrown in fire". My God does not tolerate nonsence, He would have god rid of it long ago.
Christ said persecution will follow all believers and the Catholic church is the only persecuted church. Its being persecuted by Non Christian's and other Christian denominations alike. Christ was the suffering servant so is the catholic Church, Like Christ did not utter a word, so does the Catholic church to all insults. Some say there are some wrong people in there but still it does not change the fact that god formed this church himself.

I am not a Catholic , and I heard this all my life. I am still not a Catholic but did full study, on the Church and its practices. And I will say "this is not so". A Catholic is a Christian, as much or more than a Baptist or any other Denominational Chu-rch. they do ask the Saints for assistance in prayer , to pray asking for help from of a Saint . The Bible says this is worthy of a Saints reward. How we interpret this is to each their own. As for the Sculptures and Pictures they are reminders to remember God, and I think we can all use some of that, Right? Church is Church they are all the same even though they do things a little different. If they accept Jesus as their savior and the Son Anointed of God, How can we Judge any one. Do we have the right to judge who Gods people are. The Bible also says he will save who he will, We must be care full about condemning .

The Catholic church has misguided the people in their church. If you look at a copy of the Catholic Ten commandments they are different form the Ten you will find in the King James version of the bible. They believe that they have (the church) has the authority to change God's law. As in the IV commandment. Do some research and see where it takes you.

The better question would be isn't bowing to the cross or an image of Jesus which no one has ever seen a form of idol worship?

BEFORE me.
Catholics don't put them before God... rather between, to close the gap they 'see' between them and God.
