I'm a member of Rotary, which fundraises for and runs diverse projects that help the community. I am on the Board of Conservatorium Mid North Coast, which aims to provide opportunities for high quality music teaching in the area. I Chair the local Heritage Committee, that ensures that the Aboriginal and European heritage is conserved and promoted. I Chair the Coast and Esturies Management Committee, that is concerned with the rivers and lakes and coastal environments. I Chair the Arts and Cultural Development Committee, which is leading cultural planning in our area. I'm on the Social Planning Steering Committee, which prioritises actions to improve health, education, housing, transport, community services, etc in the local area. I'm a member of the Economic Development Board, which plays an important strategic role as a think tank that generates job creation strategies. I'm on the Water Supply Steering Committee, that ensures the local area is drought proof. I'm also on the Sewerage Steering Committee, that oversees projects that improve the quality of efffluent so that it can be reused for sporting grounds etc rather than pollute the rivers and ocean. I'm on the Master Planning Committees that are designing two new towns. I'm a member of the National Parks Advisory Committee, that comments on Management Plans to improve the way the National Parks are run. I'm on the Regional Arts Board, that plays a role in cultivating and promoting the arts in the region. I was President of the local Community Arts Council for a few years, that organised live music and plays that the community would otherwise miss out on. I was a volunteer telephone crisis counsellor for a couple of years. I convened a local heritage group that ran local history projects. I convened an environment group that campaigned for an area of threatened species habit, which is now in a nature reserve. I serve as a local government Councillor. As an elected community leader, my primary goals are to ensure that every aspect of Council and the community is sustainable; and I am trying to shift local government from being a representative democracy to a participatory democracy where citizens are empowered to be part of the decision-making that effects their lives.

I am a member of the Church Choir. But I extend my involvement further by conducting Medical Mission. All I did was to save my own money to buy medicines. Then another phase to save money to transport the volunteer doctors to and from the remotest places. Once everything is ready, from Medicines, Transportation Allowances, Food, and a place for the Mission, that's the time I would proceed. This is my lone self fulfillment.
May GOD help me with this noble Mission for the rest of my life. Amen.

I pay my homeowner's association dues, pick up trash when out walking, get garbage cans out of the street after they've rolled out there on trash pick-up day, maintain good relationships with my neighbors, pay their adolescent and teen-age kids to help me with chores, contribute to all their fund-raisers for band trips, buy Girl Scout cookies, patronize community businesses, pay City taxes, go to City Council meetings and contribute to the discussions, never exceed the 15 mph speed limit because there are lots of little kiddies and God forbid I ever hurt one, keep my property neat and brush cleared away and driveway clear and house numbers painted brightly in case there is a fire anyway so that emergency vehicles and personnel can do their job, tip my mailman and rubbish pick-up men at Christmas, am a designated safe house for any child to run to when threatened in any way, keep my cat indoors always, participate in the recycling program, and otherwise mind my own business.

I'm not, I'm new to my state and don't know anyone, yet. But when I was through my job, I used to help by assisting in public schools, charity work, Special Olympics, Ronald McDonald House and United Way.

The place in which I live has 100 houses. we have an association to protect its environment and solve on day-to-day problems besides taking action for social activities. Thus all of us contribute for the welfare of the area.
