I am not bi-polar but two people I love are. My daughter and my sister-in-law. My daughter on the "down" days will call me up to five or six times a day, and as she has gotten older, she is having less of the severe down days. My sister-in-law, on the other hand... has pretty much sunk down into the "dark side".
She has become agoraphobic, and won't hardly leave her house. Doctors have had her on every kind of medication out there.
The difference between my daughter and her, is she just gave up. We don't know how to interact with her anymore. If one tries to help her, it seems she actually fights it!

Don't let it rule your life. (easier said then done, I know). Keep active, surround yourself with positive people who love you no matter what, and just because you are bi-polar does not mean that your are not "normal"... LOL, who out there IS normal? Being bi-polar is a condition that affects a very large segment of the world population to varying degrees. What counts is how YOU handle it.

Ever hear of Lithium? I have a friend who has bipolar disorder and as long as she is on her meds she is fine.
