There is no chemistry but when you break up you feel depressed, why is this?

Believe it or not, it is a mourning process...not for the person particularly, but for the hopes and anticipation you had when the relationship first started. Heck, I've divorced people I didn't even like (don't ask me how stupid I was to marry them in the first place), and I was still very upset.

It's okay, and believe me you will feel better later.

Going through a breakup or divorce, is like a death. You lost someone or something that was once very comfortable or at least secure for you. Your not used to being single. Your used to being a couple and identified as one. Even though you weren't happy, depression is normal. Maybe because there was no chemistry, your depression won't last as long. Good luck!

You've, more than likely, invested a lot of time into this person and a lot of your emotions. At one time, you did romantically care about this person. When you break up, it's such a permanent fact, such a permanent statement that you don't care for them romantically anymore and that can hurt. Also, if you are used to constantly hanging out with them suddenly you find you have a lot of free time on your hands and have no idea what to do with it. Everything you look at seems to remind you of that person and the good times you had with them. And then, maybe, you start to question if you should have broke up with them in the first place.

It's a good question but fortunately time heals these sorts of wounds.

Perhpas you feel like you've failed.
You think you couldn't rise above your differences to make it work.

Stop aching. You can't squeeze blood from a turnip and you probably weren't going to force something to materialize between the two of you.

=^)

The same reason you would feel bad if you slapped someone in the face, even when they deserved it. I would feel bad for slapping you in the face, even if you deserved it, but only after I came to my senses.
