Oh so you're saying if those things happened it would prove the Bible? If Christians had ever been bitten by poisonous snakes or healed people or spoke in tongues? Because they have happened, as signs. But just because God performed something as a sign sometime before when He chose to doesn't mean you can do it to show off any time you want. In the early days of Christianity a lot of people were killed for being Christian, and some were miraculously saved. But the martyrdom was just as important as the miracles, and if God made you immune to poison for calling His name, how sincere would His following be?

You are using the bible for your own gratification of harming Christians. If you read King James 1611 version, it says, Mark16:15,16,17,18. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. That means a true christian is baptized and saved. If he were to be bitten or given poison as you say it, he may or may not die if it is GODs will. It doesn't say to go and drink poison or play with snakes. Why don't you test your own salvation. This is saying that GOD will take care of his christian people who truly believe in him.

I smoke cigatettes, I have had a few too many drinks in my day, I have eaten the pesticides on vegetables from Industral Farms, I have applied the chemicals in products on my body, I have breathed the polluted air, I have swam in polluted rivers and lakes and swallowed chlorine in swimming pools, I have been bitten and taken antidotes that were in fact "poisonous" I have walked through radiation emitted from High Voltage Power Lines and stood too close to the microwave. I have inhailed toxic fumes from auto exhausts. I am here, in good health to answer your question ...

Bible has already went through different acid tests and criticisms through out the centuries and came out to be more pure and true than any other religious books known today. The interesting fact is that those who have opposed it became true followers of it after some time.

The passage that you refer to is based on the first account of Jesus rising from the dead. One thing that should be kept in mind, in fact, anytime scripture is being referenced when Jesus speaks, is who Jesus is talking to. In this case, He is talking to the Eleven (Apostles) with regard to salvation, that with the Spirit of God, all things are possible, and if you are saved, death cannot take you. What is important to understand is the comparison of death and life. Death is not being saved, and life (everlasting) is being saved. Condemnation is equal to death. Paul mentions a life of peace in the spirit, but death of the body in Romans 8:6 , which also has some synergy with what Jesus says in Matthew 16:25. The deadly poison and the serpents mentionned in Mark 16 deal with death, and deadly things that lead to a death, that is, a life in the absence of God, which is equated to death. So this is not a test of Christianity, that we should drink poison and handle snakes, but a warning, that we, as Christians, should look to everlasting life through the Spirit of God, and not to die a death that keeps us away from Him.
And at this point, it is the duty of the Apostles to spread the word about Jesus to the rest of the world, so that the poison and snakes do not overtake us and lead us to death, but that His resurrection gives us Life and Peace through Christian living, and obedience to the scripture ... not to be taken literally as a test, but as a warning to all that death after life (everlasting life without God) is possible.

Satan tempted Jesus with a similar scripture from the Old Testament, and Jesus has given us the answer.
Matthew 4
5Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6"If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written: " 'He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'"
7Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'"
Here are the OT sources:
Psalm 91
11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
Deuteronomy 6:16
Do not test the LORD your God as you did at Massah.

for real christian, they can interpret well what is the real meaning of some scriptures.
the poison might be anything such as temptations, persecutions insults or anything that can weaken ones faith in GOD.
Real christians does not wory or get insulted when some nasty monkeys hurl insults or blaspheme our GOD. copy?

The Word of God says, do not test God.
God will protect us, but we are to follow His Will, not ours. So, if God told us to take poison, it would be His Will. If we took poison to test God, then we are not doing His Will, but our own, and thus not following God's Will.

These verses are not instructing us to actually seek to do these things but rather reassuring us that God will protect us and provide for us.
