Matthew 12:40, “For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” (Also Luke 23:54) This is 72 hours in the tomb.
Jesus’s body was buried on Friday evening. Mark 15:42, “And now when the evening was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the Sabbath.”
The resurrection took place early Sunday morning. Mark 16:1-2; Matthew 28:1; Luke 24:1; John 20:1. This is less than 36 hours in the tomb.

i would have to read up on all that.. but i do find it interesting...my dad was a preacher but he died last may 1.. but i will ask and see what the difference means...sometimes it is hard to understand and different prophets wrote different chapters in the bible...but even though they may seem to be contradictions in the bible... i believe and always will... and i believe john 3 16 that whoseoever believeth in me shall have everlasting life......you may want to bring this up in your church sunday school class or ask your preacher about this.. i would call one right now but it is only 6 25 here and not a proper time to call...so i can not know what else to tell you as of right now....

Notice in the scriptures it doesn't give exact hours...keeping in mind they didn't have a Timex back then. They went according to sun up, sun down, position of the sun throughout the day. at the beginning of the third day Christ arose from the grave. There is no mention of 36 hours...;)

Nice try, but you fall short.

Luke 23:43: Luk 23:53 And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulcher that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.
Luk 23:54 And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.
Luk 23:55 And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulcher, and how his body was laid.
Luk 23:56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.

Mat 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

______________EVIDENCE ENCLOSED______________

***JESUS DIED WEDNESDAY APRIL 14, 31AD at 3pm.

A good foundation (1Tim.6:19) has solid ground evidence. The foundation should include 2Tim.3:16; Isaiah 28:9-10; 2Peter 1:19-21; 1Thess.5:20-21 & Ephes.5:9-10,13. To understand deeply--you must use these websites:

If you read Daniel 9:27; it says "he died in the middle of the week"; that would be Wednesday. This is followed by "3 days & 3 nights" = Matthew 12:40 which equals 1-24hr.day x 3days equals 72hrs. in grave. Next the Bible tells us it would be "after 3days and "not before = Matt.27:63-64 and Mark 8:31. It tells us in three days (John 2:19-21) and not after. The Bible also reminds us a day is 12hrs. not including the night(John 11:9-10). Remember also Gen.1:5 and Lev.23:32 tells us "evening to evening" is considered to be a day.

Now I know this is true because the MAJORITY(Matt.7:13) is always wrong. Also there's many clues that it wasn't a Friday crucifixion and a Sunday resurrection; look at 2Tim.2:18. But you will point out Mark 16:9 which says "Now when Jesus was risen[the perfect tense is correct here--he was already risen] early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene." Now the original Greek didn't have no punctuation. If the King James translators put a comma after the word "risen" and not after "week", this would make complete sense. The Centenary Translation renders it this way: "Now after his resurrection, early on the first day of the week he appeared first to Mary Magdalene
