I think that when you pray, you should speak from your mind and your heart. When you recite the exact same prayer every night, it loses its meaning.

No you're not silly, everyone has their comforts and things that make them feel safe. It's a prayer for the love of God Almighty! I have my own prayer I made up and my folks think it's goofy, I'm 28 and I still say it everynight. I really don't care because I don't need anyone elses approval just God's. He's the only one who will matter in the end and the only one that can execute true judgement. I'd say don't stop, you are noble for continuing faith in it! God bless you!

There are no "silly" prayers. It sounds like something "comforting" that you have done since you were a child. Besides, you shouldn't worry so much about what other people think - be yourself, pray as you wish. Regardless, the angels and God will be with you.

No. It's whatever makes you comfortable to sleep. I don't really have a standard prayer. I just try talking to God about what's concerned me that day and pray for his protection for the night. I guess in the protection part we say the same thing.

"Except you become like a child, you cannot enter into the Kingdom of Heaven."

Amber, you keep saying that bedtime prayer. The things of God are foolishness to men. (Oh, for you Atheist, and the things of man are foolishness to God.) I try to say The Lord's Prayer every night, and sometimes I slip in that Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep one, because I mean it.

No you're not silly. Good for you for still believing and I think it's great if we can all hold on to a bit of innocence and whatever faith helps us through life. Unfortunately I don't pray and I think it's because I'm so tired that when I finally get my head on a pillow I fall asleep right away.

nawwww you are not silly. But know that you don't have to adhere to one prayer - nor any prayer for that matter. You can simply speak to God what is in your heart - and that will be just as good as a prayer.

I pray to be an instrument of peace to all I come in contact with during the course of my day. And no, I would not accuse anyone of being silly for praying in the manner which works for them.
