Need to change the coil on a Ford Ka but there appears to be two parts available, one for early 1998 and one for Sept 98 onwards. Any tips for working out which one this is, when it was registered just after the time of the change? The engine number seems to be hidden out of view.

If it was registered just a few days after the changeover date then i would say that the engine and subsequently the coil, will be the earlier type.

Check your log book (v5) for the engine number.

It's the only way to be sure as it could be the older model held in stock for a long time making it look like the newer model.
