Church is a place where you have a very high chances of getting many true friends. Those that accept you as what you are are your true friends. DUC02, is right, if there is anything you need, you can always go to Christ, surely He will assist you in getting a friend.

Church is a start. Prayer is needed. I am 35 and have gone ot church all my life. 13 years at my present church. I am praying that God directs me to a true Christian friend. I do not have that close Christian friend that I can confide in and click with. I have many friends that I golf with and do other things. If you are looking for that close Christian friend, pray that God directs you to the right person so that you both can grow.
