they didnt protest so much when the israelis elected their government. also why cant israel just lay off the palestinians? its just tit for tat and i think if the israelis would just stop launching random missles in to palestine and killing innocent civillians and actually commited themselves to some peace talks a lot more could be accomplished.

the main cause of the problem is that the israelis just moved in 50 years ago, took palestinian land, and then started their own country. there are still palestinians who live in refugee camps who have the keys to their houses where they lived in Israel 50 years ago. now israelis live in their houses and wont let them come back. its just a huge mess.

The reason hamas hasnt been able to accomplish much is because no one has given them the chance to. Israel is constantly launching missle strikes and demolishing homes and hamas hasnt had a chance to do anything.

uhhh. excuse me sgt_k but the israelis have been attacking and overrunning palestinian land for 50 years. the israeli government is not a terrorist organization because the US governement has not labeled it a such. but the israelis are terrorists just as much as hamas is. if someone launched some missles at your town and killed a bunch of your friends and then came in and bulldozed your house, how would you feel? i think you would feel pretty darn pissed off, maybe not enough to blow yourself up on a bus with a bunch of civilians but with a little bit of coaxing and a promise of going to heaven you might do so.

jmminnc your right there always was a large jewish population. but that doesnt mean that they can just all come there and set up a state in the middle of palestine that hasnt been there for thousands of years! it would be all fine and cool if they had just all migrated there and had just become part of palestine. but they scared everyone into fleeing and then held elections and set up their own state in the late 40s and early 50s.

Whenever the israelis kill anyone, they always make the firm stance that they were terrorists or that terrorists where in the group that was killed. However, most of the witnesses say that these people where innocent civilians minding their own buisness.
Also, Israel does not need to demolish the homes of the palestinians to defend Israel and this is cruel and a complete waste on their part. Its almost like they are provoking an attack by the palestinians.

I agree with u.For now Hamas is considered a terrorist organization. But so was Fatah considered and now the Israelis say they will deal only with them...So I think that if they could deal with Fatah they should ,at least, try to negotiate with Hamas. They have to admit that it was Palestinian people choice, even they want it or not...

You say Hamas didn't protest "so much when the Israelis elected their government." So what? The elected Israeli government is not a terrorist organization that is committed to the destruction of Palestine. Hamas IS a known terror organization dedicated to the destruction of Israel.

Why can't Hamas "just lay off the Israelis?" It's NOT just tit for tat, and I think Hamas should stop launching random suicide attacks in Israel and killing innocent civilians and actually commit themselves to some peace talks. A lot more can be accomplished.

EDIT: uhhh. excuse me theres no one up there. Stop making excuses for the behavior of terrorists. It is people like you who legitimize terrorism, terrorists and terror tactics. And to further show you that two can play your stupid little word games, I say the following:

Hamas has been attacking and attempting to overrun israeli land for 50 years. Hamas is not a terrorist organization because the US governement has labels it such but because they have committed terrorist acts for years and years. The israelis are not terrorists just as much as Hamas is. If someone launched some suicide bombings at your town and killed a bunch of your friends, how would you feel? I think you would feel pretty darn pissed off, maybe not enough to use your legitimate defenses and launch missile strikes against the organization responsible, but with a little bit of coaxing and a promise of going to heaven you might do so.

Your words mean nothing without backing them up with fact. Without fact and common sense - which your statements clearly lack - they are just rants and raves that cannot be given any legitimacy. Do you doubt me? If so, just look at my statements above. The say the exact same thing as you. Some people believe them, some don't. But without fact to back it up, I can say whatever the hell I want and have lots of sheeple believe me.

Think about it.

Hamas is a terrorist organization. Hamas could show it's potential for good will by returning one soldier that has no value to them. Do they do that? No, they try to make stupid demands that they know will never be met. Israel has the military might to wipe Palestine off the map. We (the U.S.) are the only ones holding Israel back. If Hamas was smart they would find this soldier and give him back and say to the rest of the world "Look we're serious about peace" But they won't because there is a large minority there who love war and chaos. Israel is defending itself. An Act of aggression like kidnapping a soldier cannot go unpunished. Israel is surround on all borders by enemies so they must never show any signs of weakness. They gave back the Gaza Strip not to long ago and what happened? The place fell into Chaos. Hamas has done a great so far haven't they

Mainly because Hamas won't accept Israelis running the Israeli government. Or the existence of Israel. The recent bombing of Palestine is due to the kidnapping of an Israeli recruit by Hamas factions. I think the whole situation is horrible and both sides need to stop killing each other, recognize each other's right to exist side by side and move on. Israel is here to stay. Palestinians have a right to a nation. Start from there.

I accept it. They were democratically elected, so they are the people in charge. And after decades when Palestine was in the hands of Arafat's deeply corrupt Fatah party, it was about time for a change.

The problem is that Isreal does not accept it. The Israelis are so deeply entrenched in their own irrational ideology, that they can no longer see reality. In their bunker mentality they just fire upon everyone who is not following exactly their line.
In this way they follow the lead of the USA, which are the main financier and supporter of Israel. Without US aid Israel would and could not exist. And the more the US administration becomes the world's most ugly bully, the more Israel feels encouraged to do the same locally.

Ignoring your blatantly misinformed understanding of the conflict and of any sort of history regarding the region...

I'll just say that the truth of the matter is that people HAVE accepted that Hamas is the new, elected "Palestinian Authority" coupled with the fact of what you yourself acknowledge as them being a terrorist organization.

In other words, accepting that fact does not mean that Israel is required to make peace with Hamas. It is roughly analogous to Nazi Germany. Hitler and his Nazi party were definitely the leaders of Germany between 1933-45. That does not mean that other countries were required to make peace with them. (In fact, it was tried and turned out to be an utter failure.)

The truth is that Hamas poses a very real threat to Israel and its citizens. To not take care of the issue (yes, through deadly force) would be irresponsible of them at the very least. To that end, Israel has recently taken the offensive.

And btw, there is no such case where Israel launches missiles "at random" (the phrase used by you to equate what they do with what Hamas does which is literally launch rockets targeting civilian areas and very rarely is targeted at military targets).

That you are saying is that Jews never lived here.
So where did they come from?

If you go back to the Early 1800s when Ottomans controlled that part of the world. You would find all most 70% for the people living there were Jewish. There has all ways been a very large Jewish population in and around the lands now controlled by Israel.

The land that in the British mandate that was called palatine was a provinces of the Ottoman empire. This province had in it the lands of Lebanon, and Jordan as well as Israel

Now under the Muslim Ottomans Land rights of non Muslims were restricted.

Isreal did NOT launch missles at random at plalstine, the hamas howerer encourages thier people to murder innocent civilians as aften as they can.. They think it garentees them a free ride to heaven!! Hamas is the bunch that launches randomly into isreal, and that is the reason isreal took gaza away from them,, so they couldn't hit jerusalem as easy as they were.. How long would you tolerate a known murderer who has sworn to his god that he will kill you and your family living next door to you?? ISREAL has proven the love of thier God over and above anything I or you could do..
