If we can't forgive, than that means we won't be forgiven. Every human being at some point in life is forgiven by someone for something, so you are just doing what someone once did for you. Maybe not the same person but forgive and the circle for forgiveness with continue for you.

Because forgiving is the courageous way out. A person has to be real strong before they can actually forgive. People who has too many weaknesses usually cannot forgive. :)

Forgiveness is a gift to YOURSELF. You do it for YOURSELF, not for the other person. Until you truely forgive the other person, you are carrying a weight in your heart about whatever wrong has been done to you. This eats away at you day after day, whether you are conciously aware of it or not. You deserve better. You deserve to be free from this weight. TRUELY FORGIVE the other person, and they will no longer have POWER OVER YOU. You will be free. Trust me, it really works. You are worth it. Free yourself.

Because if you don´t you will end up as a bitter old spinster, who will always live in the past begrudging people. If you forgive another, you forgive yourself, and living with no emotional baggage you have to always carry tends to make life a lot prettier!

I don't think it's a matter of forgiveness, more of a letting go of the hold that person has over you. The person has offended you and moved on and you're still have a greivance over them. They're not bothered anymore, they've forgotten about you yet they're still winning.

it is because forgiveness sets you free. it gives you the power to move on. if someone has done you wrong your soul feeds on it, it will eventually become the source of all your fears and angers. but if you forgive you let go, you admit to yourself that you were hurt. you allow yourself to move on. and, the most important of all, you allow your mind and soul to move on.
