Sometimes I feel that way, but then I think there must be a reason for my being here living in this hell we call earth...I think everyone's life has a purpose whether it be to leave a memory or a lesson for someone else. I 'm not quite sure how to articulate what I mean....lol guess i will leave it at that...
But then I look at my daughter when she is sleeping and think Wow i helped give her life, I have to make her life better than what mine is. So i guess i do have a small purpose in life.....

If you waste your time living life. You only live once, if you want to waste the time you have then it is your choice. But if you take the time you have and do something that benefits someone else or yourself then your not wasting your time.

From the long-term perspective, of course it is. In a thousand years, no one will know that you were even around, your bones will be dust and your name will only be on a tombstone or family tree. But even that will eventually turn to dust. If your a hitler or alexander the great-type person, your name will last a little longer.
It's an astronomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave our earth a burnt crisp. It's an astonomical certainty that an extinction level event will occur from an asteroid hit (we're already overdue based on the average time between 'hits')
So, does that make our lives meaningless? In the short term, we live to "reduce pain and increase pleasure." We get satisfaction from the relationships we have with our kids, family and friends. Beyond that, our lives are lost to oblivion.

As you have put this in the philosophy category then We have to think about this question........
In the greater scheme of things life on our little planet could be waste of time.
The universe is something like 13.7 billion years old, we sit in an arm of a spiral of our Galaxy the Milky way, the edge of the known universe is 78 billion light years away and expanding, there are stars bigger than our own galaxy. there are over 100 billion galaxy's.The Hubble telescope has seen Galaxy's over 13 billion light years away.
So If we could travel at the speed of light it would take 13 billion years to get their.
Our 3 score years and 10 is somewhat insignificant in this vast Universe

Depends on what we consider as its ultimate purpose. If we live with a positive nature to seek the definition of our inner selves within the framework of external reality there will never be a dull moment. But if we intend it to prove our personalities in an ever changing web of worldly events experiencing joys and sorrows impersonating ourselves with time we will have many wasteful or fruitful moments based on our personal experiences.

If it were possible for time to be wasted...
The only thing I've figured out to do with time is spend it, I've never quite figured out how to "save" time, I'd guess any attempt to waste time will result in the same outcome as when I tried to save it.

Not unless you want it to be. I don't think that my life is a waste of time. I rather enjoy life and everything about it.

Life is a wonderous, and beautiful journey into the unknown and uncharted realm of God. I know this after 18 yrs of manic psychosis, and now 8 yrs of recovery. Each day that I wake up is gift. I am in awe of my sons and daughter. This journey gets better and better as I awaken to my true self and commune this fact with others.

It depends on what happens when we die. If death is the ultimate goal of life and the only satisfaction of our endless hunger for food and stimulation. Yes life is a waste of time. and we should all stop eating, and procreating. That's the only way this insatiable appitite, known as (life) will be satisfied... But... if the animals with they ability to choose not to eat, die. life will not end. it will only regress to a state driven by subconsious beings and primal instincts... i.e. bugs, lions tigers and bears ohhh my!!!
