i have a couple ideas for ya............we have taken sharpie off of walls, plastic, and a few other things using a Magic Eraser, it has the mr clean guy on it if that helps to find it, but it is called Magic Eraser. its pretty cheap and you can find it almost anywhere. my second idea is gonna sound kinda funny but i know that baby oil can get sharpie off of skin. i dont know that it would work on leather but its worth a shot.
good luck!

Try Goof Off with a Q-Tip. Goof Off is a laytex paint remover, but also removes a bunch of other things. You can get it at Home Depot or Lowes. I use it for everything including marker....I have a 5 year old who likes to draw with Sharpies.

Unfortunately, when they say permanent, that's just what it is.Especially, since leather is porous, the ink has been absorbed into the leather. If the ink spot is small enough, you could attach a decrotive pin,or any other decoration to cover the spot.Sorry.

I don't think you can, if you really like the purse you might try to decorate the spot that the stain has made
