In a soccer match, being shown a red card means a player will be sent off the pitch for the rest of the game for a foul commited The other players will have to contend with a team with a player short.

However, how long can a referee allow a game to continue if he has to keep sending players from a team off the pitch? Can he let a game continue if there are only 4 or 5 players left in a team?

I once saw a game where a referee has to send 3 players off a pitch for fouls very severe.

Hello!
There is a minimum number of players in a team that is necessary in order for the game to go on. I think this number is 7!

I believe the answer is seven also, but you will probably get better answers if you ask this question in the Soccer section found under Sports
