Try a lumber yard.....ask if they have scraps you can have or buy cheap.

bark chip comes in 3 types grade A is best around its just the trunk no foliage or twigs. grade B is just bark of pine trees its good but the wind blows it every where.grade C is the poorest with leaves,twigs and other garden waste,this one will cause weeds to grow.any garden centre will have it in bags ready,tree surgeons sells it on the cheep to

most garden centres will sell it to you in bags which dont cost a lot but for a very good price you can buy a ton of it. here in the uk its only £20

usually most garden centers will supply it, they refer to it as Bark Mulch, so if you ask for that they should be able to help
